Bembe Tapas & Bar (Havana)

I did a lot of walking on my last trip and happened to walk by this place one day when it was closed. It looked so good closed that I made a point of grabbing a snack here later that day when it opened. I didn't regret my visit, enjoyed it so much that I brought my wife here on another occasion.
The place is right by the street on a corner, with their windows opened you could touch the people walking by. Live music, during the day at least. Pleasant service, the same young lady took care of me both times. The bartender makes a good drink...I had a Mojito on my first visit and a Canchanchara on the second, both were very good. I enjoyed the Tacos for my snack on my first visit so much I had them again, sharing them with my wife on my second visit. We both ended up having the same thing for our main courses, pan seared Swordfish....cooked to perfection, as good as any fancier restaurant. I liked the decor, very simple but clean, and there's also an upstairs section which is a little more private. For me, something that scores a lot of points, I can smoke my cigar on the ground level. I would definitely come back to this place as I already have and would recommend it to others who are looking for a lighter meal. Away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy part of the city and yet just steps away. There was just one other table eating there on both occasions I was there, they've been open about a year, I hope they make it. Right around the corner from the Partagas Cigar Shop, for my readers that frequent the place, this would be perfect spot to grab a snack after a couple of hours of smoking. PS.....it's not too expensive.
